Good Bye Jason Castro

Good Bye Jason Castro!
You were cute as hell, especially the 'non-caring' easy going attitude. So refreshing compared to the others climbing over each other for screen time attention. You were not the best singer, but an enjoyable guy to watch! You brought a bit of fun to an otherwise too serious season of Idol. Most of the singers seem to be so pained being there. You will be missed!

American Idol: Who is going tonight?

I love when American Idol does Broadway. It really makes or breaks some singers. Last night was not directly Broadway, but it was Andrew Lloyd Webber. Most did well except poor Jason who did not do himself any favors by chosing Memories. With a song book as huge as that of ALW, why he chose most likely his best known song is a mystery to me. Jason will I believe be saved by his fan base and my gut says Brooke is going, I could be wrong. It is possible another female could bite the dust, most likely Syesha, but I think it will be Brooke. I think that will be too bad as although Carly and Syesha out sang her, I thought Brooke does something many others do not do, which is show true emotion in her singing every week. Yes, sometimes her always 'on the verge of tears' can be annoying, I actually thought her performance last night was one of the best, truly performing the song as it would be on a Broadway or London Stage. If I had my way, David Archuleta would go home tonight. I have said it before, I don't get his appeal. Yes he sang well, he always does, but yet I find him like white bread, bland and boring. Always good, but no real drama or passion in his songs. He will survive though, his fan base is too large.

Just another shirtless Jason, no reason...

Good Bye Michael Johns!

Good Bye Michael Johns, you were my favorite this season. I will still watch, but the season will not be the same.

Favorite Guy From Canadian Idol: Jacob Hoggard

Hedley (Above)

I have not watched a full episode of Canadian Idol, but I have downloaded a few episodes and watched a few performances on YouTube. I really liked Jacob Hoggard who came in third in the shows second season. Jacob is a unique talent and currently leads the Canadian group Hedley, whom I really like. Jacob also likes to show his Hedley tattoo, which is nice given where it is at.

One of Hedley's hits: On My Own.

RIP Claudette Yamin

I was a huge Elliott Yamin fan. I think he was my favorite in all the years of American Idol. In listening to some of his songs recently I am still surprised he was third behind Katherine McPhee and Taylor Hicks. I really don't enjoy either one of them. If you loved Elliott as I did, you also could not help but love his mother. Their relationship was a joy to watch. Elliott's mother, Claudette Yamin, died a week ago at the age of 65. My thoughts go out to Elliott and his family.

American Idol: Update on My thoughts

We all have thoughts on AI if we watch, so I don't expect anyone to give two hoots on my thoughts, but I shall share them anyway.

Some of my feelings have changed since my original post. I am liking most of the females, but not loving any of them. My favorite is Brooke, yet understand she does not quite have the voice to make it to the end. Carly was quite amazing tonight singing Dolly, but she bugs for me for some reason....

As for the guys, I am still in lust with Jason Castro, but Michael Johns has surpassed him as my favorite. He has grown on me with each week, and a few weeks ago, I did not give him much thought, that has changed. I cannot stand David Cook, despite liking some of his performances, he turns me off big time. Although is new hair cut might have also cut a bit of his attitude, he still does nothing for me. I still cannot see the appeal of David Archuleta, I question anyone thinking he is great unless the are a 13 year old girl, or a senior citizen. Certainly I see his vocal talent, but he needs to grow up a bit, I am not watching a Disney Sing Off, and to me he is a cute kid with a great voice, but certainly not anyone I would download or buy a cd of. So it is Michael and Jason for me.

A little while ago I posted on my thoughts

American Idol: Who is going to night???

My guess is Kristy Lee Cook or David Hernandez, they both were weak last night. Could be Ramiele or Syesha, but I think everyone else is safe for another week.

American Idol: My thoughts so far

I think it is too early to be screaming about anyone on this show yet. It is too bad that Simon and company are already saying things like "Your the one to beat" so early in the season. In the past it seemed to me comments such as these were held until after the top 12 were picked. So far no one on the male or female side has stood out to me. This is not odd though, my faves in the past usually did not surface until the top 12 take off and the show switches to the big stage. I am already a little bored, especially of the judges, time for Randy and Paula to move on so we can get some new blood. Here are my thoughts on the guys so far, there are some hotties in there. I have left off Danny Noriega and Chikezie as this is a favorite hunks blog and they are not my favorites, or hunk worthy to me. I don't dislike either of them, but can't get excited about them either.

David Archuleta
Ok, he is cute, like a puppy, but I do not get the degree of praise he is getting. I usually root for the underdog so maybe the comments Simon has been making have turned me off, but I enjoy him, but actually wish he would leave sooner than later. His voice is not quite as good as some might think, and I think that will show itself more as the season continues. I think anyone Simon is pimping as the winner this early in the game is in for a fall.

David Hernandez
Hot bod, and it is great to have an ex stripper up there belting away. He did well last night.

David Cook and Michael Johns, like them both, not in love with either. Did love Cook's version of Hello last night.

Luke Menard
Cute as anything, but yawn.

Jason Castro
I think Jason is pretty damn cute, but not sure I would so much if he lost the dreads. He is a good performer doomed to get lost in the mix. On another year, he could win the show, but there are too many big personalities the judges are pushing this year. Maybe my favorite so far.
